HD SYSTEM No. 2 provides full connection for all analogue and digital inputs and outputs available for every Digidesign HD I/O interface configuration and their flagship control surface PROCONTROL.

Up to (72) inputs and outputs can be driven through HD SYSTEM No. 2 including available resources at the PROCONTROL such as monitoring, external sources, cue mix, auxiliary inputs, slate output, listen-back & talk-back. Also provided are up to (36) additional, Pre-Normalized user inputs and outputs, which allow for standard connections without the need for a single patch cord.

A custom designed Break-Out Panel (for rear-rack mount) with ELCO/EDAC connectors allows to easily hook up the dedicated Digidesign HD units.

HD SYSTEM No. 2 is designed to be used with the Digidesign HD DA EXPANSION CARD for monitoring and auxiliary outputs, keeping the interface standard outputs free.

Basically HD SYSTEM No. 2 & HD SYSTEM No. 3 are the same. HD SYSTEM No. 2 is intended for PROCONTROL stereo monitoring configuration and HD SYSTEM No. 3 is intended for PROCONTROL surround 5.1 monitoring configuration. Switching from Stereo to Surround 5.1 can easily be done by replacing a dedicated ELCO/EDAC connector in the rear Break-Out panel which re-routes connections to match the new configuration.

Cable kits are provided in three sizes: 15' (4.5m), 30' (9m) and 45' (13.5m) long. All snakes and connectors are clearly labeled for easy installation.
System includes all cables to hook up the interfaces and control surface plus: (1) snake terminated with (8) Neutrik XLR Male and (8) Neutrik XLR Female connectors (user inputs and outputs #1), (1) snake terminated with (8) Neutrik XLR Female connectors (comm and user outputs #2) and (1) snake terminated with (12) Neutrik XLR Male connectors (user inputs #2 and #3), allowing for a total of (36) user analogue inputs & outputs.
